From a small town in Alabama, I've always harbored a passion for art, even when the odds seemed stacked against me. Growing up, I dreamt of being an artist, but the notion of 'no money for black girls' was a reality check. Nevertheless, I persevered and pursued my artistic aspirations. Today, in my retired years, I reflect on a journey that's seen me create over a hundred captivating pieces.
My artistic journey took me to the International School of Art, where I earned my diploma, and I further honed my skills while studying at Lawson State College. From these experiences, I've proudly left my mark on the world. You can find my work adorning the walls of the Medical West Hospital ER and showcased at renowned events like the Tannehill Art Show and Juneteenth Art Show.
As I stand here today, I'm humbled to say that my collection has grown to encompass over 200 unique creations. You can catch a glimpse of my heart and soul through my artwork, which continues to find its place in the world. From exhibitions at Med West to various other displays, my art tells a story of resilience, passion, and the beauty of pursuing one's dreams.
